The Great Blue Herons in Stanley Park
This bird is the largest and most widespread heron in North America, the Great Blue Heron
can be found in the trees, along the ocean shore or the edge of a small inland pond.
The Great Blue Heron
eats mostly
fish, however it is willing to eat other animals as well.
Several studies have found that mice are a very
important part of the herons diet, making up
almost half of what is fed to nestlings.
