How to get to Victoria BC from Vancouver BC by Car, Bus, Plane, Helicopter and Bike

There are many options when travelling between Vancouver and Victoria. You can drive (taking your car or truck across on BC Ferries), You can take a Vancouver to Victoria bus which have scheduled times and routes, or you can fly to Victoria by float plane or helicopter from downtown Vancouver or take a domestic flight from the Vancouver International Airport to the Victoria Airport (you will need to take a taxi or bus from Victoria's Airport to get to downtown Victoria). The distance from Vancouver, BC to Victoria, BC is about 55 miles (88 kms).

Vancouver to Victoria by Car

If you decide to drive to Victoria you will need your own car or a rental car. You can get a rental car from the Vancouver Airport. It takes about 4-5 hours to travel from downtown Vancouver to Victoria by car provided that there is no wait at the BC Ferries terminals in Twassassen or Horseshoe Bay. Pacific Coach Lines also provides regularly scheduled service connecting Nanaimo to Vancouver International Airport via BC Ferries' Duke Point-Tsawwassen route. If you intend to board a PCL coach on the ferry, please ensure that any baggage you check at the terminal has a bus on it.

Air Canada flies from the Vancouver International Airport YVR to Victoria Airport (YYJ) almost every hour using Dash 8s. The flight time is 25 minutes. The fares start at approx $120 one way.
